Last day Of February 2013

Gosh how time flies.  The good news is you are the pilot ~ it's up to you to be the navigator!

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow...creeps in this petty pace from day to day.  You must have been warned against letting the golden hours slip by; but some of them are golden only because we let them slip by.

Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.

Much love from me.

Sabah Hongkod Koisaan KDCA

Understand the differences between today’s culture and the culture that our ancestors’ lived in years back by visiting KDCA Cultural Village. You will get to witness our ancestor’s lifestyle at their homes which is built exactly as it was years ago. The cultural village is located at Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Hongkod Koisaan, Penampang which is about 15 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu City. This cultural village is specially catered for the Kadazandusun tribes in Sabah and there are four (4) major Dusun tribes in Sabah in the village; Dusun Tindal Kota Belud, Dusun Papar, Rungus and Murut.

The purpose of this visit is to show to my guest's (from oversea) the unique cultures of Sabahan  and the beauty of our country sub-urban side.

We drive from Kota Kinabalu City after lunching at Jesselton Point Harbour.

The Guide
Masakan Padang.. Ayam Pop is the must have!
Our 1st destinations is The Monsopiad Cultural Village but unluckily I can't find the place! Hehehehehehe...shame on me! As Sabahan I should know the way but I'm not familiar with Penampang areas.

Wahahahahaha. Kuang..kuang...kuang. Sorry my friends. But they are not too keen also because the weather's so hot!

Hokkay....now we headed to KDCA.... took some pictures, watch the cultural dance shows and buy some souvenirs.

Kundasang War Memorial and Gardens

After lunch, I decided to go to The War Memorial and Gardens and take some pictures for my blog. For those who have no idea of what kind of memorial it is, here are some short snippets for you.

The entrance fees for local RM2. Foreign citizen RM10
At the foothills to Mount Kinabalu stands a memorial park dedicated to those Australian and British servicemen who died as POWs in Sandakan and on the Ranau Death Marches during World War Two (then known as British North Borneo). The memorial also pays tribute to the local population who risked their lives to assist the POWs. This is a magnificent tribute that was built in 1962. A New Zealander, Major G.S. (Toby) Carter, D.S.O. who enlisted in the Royal Australian Engineers and organised native resistance in the Kelabit Highlands of Sarawak initiated, and was the driving force behind, the establishment of the Memorial and the Park.

In recent years the memorial gardens have been restored to their original beauty through the effort and dedication of the guardian of the Kundasang War Memorial, Sevee Charuruks.
It has four separate gardens on different levels. An Australian Garden, a formal English Garden of roses, a Borneo Garden with wild flowers of Kinabalu and at the top level is the ' Comtemplation Garden' with a refection pool and pergola.

Some pictures taken.

Trip To Kundasang Ranau (Mount Kinabalu)

Perjalanan mengambil masa lebih kurang 2 jam. Terpaksa berhati-hati memandu kerana hujan sangat lebat. Banyak kereta, Bas Express dan oil tank lagi tu....dussss...cloudy lagi. My vision a bit blurred. However, after the long tiring journey, we finally reach our destination... Mount Kinabalu Heritage Spa, Kundasang.

The lady at reception sangat friendly... apa lagi bila I cakap2 dusun ngan dorang. Well.. we are the "Kimaragang" clans bah!.

Dulunya hotel ini dikenali sebagai Hotel Perkasa. Sudah rebranding agaknya so tukarlah nama jadi ala-ala resort.  I book room chalet. Konon2nya mahu melihat sunset dan Mount Kinabalu waktu petang dan pagi. Nasib amat malang, rupanya sekarang di Kundasang siang malam hujan... I dont know la if tomorrow morning I have the chance to glimpse the mountain before I head home (KK).

My room condition ala kadar saja. Twin bed. Room no 6. My original booking is room 22 at the top but finally i give it up because it was far. At the top. Takut hantu juga. Ok.. here are some pictures that I managed to captures hence the rainy and cloudy condition. I will continued the story later when I reach home hokkayyy...

Adventurous And Living To The Fullest

The Late Mae West once famously said that you only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.

Yes. We can be born anew only once, because we can live only once in this present world; but we can rise and recover often, we can grow, and be nourished often with spiritual food.

Well, we can only live once, and sometimes it’s hard to breathe the breath of misery; but like enough we shall have heaven to ourselves for it,  and we will have a sweet life on it.

We live only once, dear reader.
What! should I spoil my life for the whims and caprices of a man? Why should I become the slave of the prejudices and passions of another? No one  could  compensate me for my grief, nor bring back one lost hour of my life.

I'm the one that's got to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to.

We all have an expiration date after that we will never come again. I am not saying that to make you sad. I am saying that so you can cherish each moment in your life and be grateful that you are here and you are Special. So, live your life with class, dignity, and style so that an exclamation, rather than a question mark signifies it!

Cherish every moment. You will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.
