Did you know that Buda and Pest were originally two different cities? Yes I know befiore I came to Hungary because I did my research beforehand. You should do too okay. Baru lah ala2 savvy traveler gitu.
Buda, the hilly and leafy side, lies on the West Bank of the Danube, while Pest, the administrative and commercial heart of the city, lies on the East Bank.
Info lain2 sila la tanya Mr Google ya. Tak kuasa I nak tulis panjang2 upload guna hand phone uols.
Early morning pictures (24/10/2013) at Am Schubrating Hotel in Vienna. Waiting for my hotel pick-up service to take me to the meeting point near Vienna Opera House. Must be ready before 7am. AM ok?
As usual I bought all my tours months before my departure through Viator, a worldwide third party tours provider (Pssttt.... now I've signed up as their affiliate so my dearest ladies and gentlemen my fellow travelers, now you can buy through this website also by clicking the ads below or at the sidebar, PLEASE?). Hi Hi Hi. I says please okay.
By the way, there's no problem for me to wake up early. Dah terbiasa kita dengan kewajiban subuh. Lagipun ada sedikit rasa ngeri lerrrr. Fefeeling takut hantuuuu.
On the way to Budapest. Don't forget to take your passport with you just in case the immigration want it at the border checkpoint.
Bear in mind that the walk tours mostly done uphill with cobblestone pavement so wear comfortable shoes. Here our coach park at the hill side. Write down your coach reg number just in case you get separated from the group. Banyak bas Wisata parking kat sini nanti salah naik kan?
Our local walktour guide, Gabriella.
Early lunch here.
After lunch we explored the West Bank side.
Need to recall about this (above pic).
I don't have much pic here. Will adds on later.
The Buda Side.
The Fishermen Bastion
This fantastic structure is one of the most beautiful Budapest attractions. It was built by Frigyes Schulek, primarily as a decorative viewing terrace, simultaneously with last major renovation of the Mathias Church (1895-1902). Local history says that in the Middle Ages, there was a fish market nearby and it was the duty of the fisherman's guild to defend this part of the castle complex, hence the name of the Bastion. Frankly speaking, of all Europe's old building architectures that I've ever seen, this is the most breathtaking for me.
The Mathias Church
My iPad cam can't captured it a all. Make sure you get ready for a wider view cam.
Up to the Buda Castle.
Now let's go to the terrace to feast our eyes with Buda and Pest Birdseye city view.
I'm looking at the East Bank, Pest. Separated from her Buda by the river Danube. Oh! Terserlah kebulatan muka I. Oh ok, abaikan saja keluhkesah ini. So vain ! Uhuk.
Gaby and I. Posing for remembrance. We may not cross path again but I'm happy because in this life time of mine I've the chance to meet her, an energetic woman, from thousand miles away from my hometown. The beauty of traveling, discovering and meeting new peoples so different from your own and yet, connected as human being. 1Race is truly a beautiful dreams.
Now, I'm admiring the West Bank Buda. Linked to his other half Pest by the Chain Bridge Budapest (Lanc Hid) - the oldest and most beautiful bridge of the eight that connect Buda and Pest. This Budapest attractions and together with the Buda Castle, offers a night a stunning view when fully lit up (said the guide). Truly not to be missed but unfortunetly I missed it. Maybe next time. Ada ukur panjang, ada rezeki lebih nak stay sini at least 2 malam.
Want to buy souvenir? These one are the more expensive version. You can buy a cheaper one at the open market but maybe not as good as the original hand woven craft. As always, a copy is not as good as the real one, no?
Let's go to Pest! What she offers.
Beside being commercial and administrative part of the city, it also has rich historical and cultural treasures. Museums, shopping centers, nightclubs, art galleries, restaurants and a wealth of attractions make Pest a firm favorite for many locals and visitors alike.
Budapest Opera House. A breathtaking venue considered to be one of the finest opera house in Europe. I would suggest that, if you have ample time, even if you are not an opera devotee, going to the opera in Budapest is a great experience that you shouldn't miss while visiting this wonderful city. Take advantage of the affordable prices of the performances, tickets costs go from 400 ft.
After watching the opera you can walks along the high end street selling designer branded name like Louis Vuitton Store (next to the opera) and such.
We passes this chic street when we go to the Heroes Square
Budapest Basilica ( sorry pic taken fr moving bus - the building with green dome) is undeniably one of the most impressive of Budapest sights. St Stephen Basilica in Budapest is Hungary's largest church and took some fifty years from start to completion. The guide says. If you come between April and October, it's recommended for you to go up to the dome for some nice views over the city. Another miss for a day tour visitor like me.
Let's drive around the Pest town.
The Heroes Square Budapest
Hosok Tere is Budapest major spectacles for visitors to the city and beloved peace for the local year round. When considering what to see in Budapest, the square is of high historical and cultural importance and will bring you a lot closer to understanding the city and the Magyar nation. Besides, it's superb for photo shooting background too. Smileeee!
Note: they are not taking my picture ok? Hi hi. With my ultimate pose signature: Peace To The World. Peace to the Hungarian peoples like him.
Budapest Intercontinental Hotel Worker.
But I'm not the only one. Great site attract all posers : how nice of him to be part of my background pic.
Seriously, It's difficult to find a space to take a shoot just for you.
Let's wandered. 2 hours free time before going back to Vienna.
Heroes Square vicinity.
Peace again.
